Natalie Keymist is a London native, socially engaged photographic artist and educator with a passion for the visual arts. Drawing influence from the ethereal and human experiences. Thus trying to find connections in what seem to be opposing places. She has a background in history, dance and movement which occasionally influences her practice which in large part is based around making connections with people. She also enjoys working around the themes of narrative, memory, imagination, the surreal and the ethereal. Using oral history, moving image, analogue, and hybrid photographic techniques. She worked commercially for a few years however fell in love with the darkroom and has been creating images in them ever since. She has freelanced as a photographic artist. Whilst running her own business Lens Obscura where she teaches pinhole and alternative photographic practices. She has also freelanced as an artist educator in galleries, museums, extra care and community spaces. Artist in ResidentNovember 2019
