I spent today @ldnmetarchives at their #ArtsandLondon'sArchive conference. The talks started with a familiar face in the form of Clare Wood from @southbankcentre . She and Jessica Ihejetoh spoke about the different projects Southbank archive entertain over the year. I was interested to hear that there will be a festival about #man and #masculinity next month. The next talk was by Anna Ncnally from @Universityofwestminster and she spoke about their collection of #chinese#proganda #poster part of the #ChinaVisualArtsProject. This was followed by one of my favourite talks of the day by the archivist at @royalalberthall Elizabeth Harper she spoke about the history of the Albert hall and the #greatexhibition in 1851. After lunch there were three talks from @nationalarchivesuk who spoke about their art collection in the archive. Which was followed by the first and last #archivist @icalondon who spoke about his experiences archiving in a #contemporaryart space which values the present and future over the past. The conference ended with a talk by Morwenna Roche who was currently the archivist at @wallacemuseum however spoke about her experiences being the archivist at @tate archive. As always I left buzzing excited about what archiving in art spaces involves. 🎨❤️
